| High Breathing |
|
It is the worst way to breathe , usually done by the majority of women; it could causes rheumatism, tonsillitis, illnesses of the vocal chords, so leading to disagreeable and raucous voices. This method consists of the raising of the ribs and the lifting of the collarbone and shoulders.
The retracted abdomen and the rib case, becoming tight, make the diaphragm rise. In this way, only the upper, smallest, part of the lungs is involved. The air entering into the lungs is very little, in fact, insufficient. Also, the raised diaphragm prevents further dilation. Clavicular breathing means great effort with poor results. This is why we have said that clavicular or high breathing is the worst. It should be rejected, using only some of the points which we will indicate.
