| Ajna Chakra, The Brow Centre or Third eye |
|
The Brow Centre is at the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows. This Centre is the starting point of the volitive operations, the command point, to influence the other Centres and to concentrate the mind, with the bellows of the Alchemists and the art of using them, in this delicate operation. In India, the art and regimen of the bellows is called Pranayama (the control and management of vital breathing); but we do not need to look for the secrets of the Royal Art in Asia (where we stayed for a long time) because the Alchemic-Kabalistic-Christian tradition has everything that is required.
The Brow Centre is the apparatus of the individual conscience, of awareness and of the mental faculties, but also the psychosomatic meeting point with the uncreated divine energy, if trained correctly. In this Center, the Disciple receives the orders and telepathic instructions of his spiritual instructor, messages that are also transmitted with the sword of Initiation to the organ of the etheric body , then, of the astral , later, to the frontal center of the mental body and, finally, to the causal body which informs the spirit, gifted with will, memory and intellect. Having taken cognizance of the messages, the spirit answers, retracing the same way to the physical brain which irradiates the entire nervous, hormone and blood systems, with a new dynamism. Obviously, this receptivity of the recipient, either Apprentice, Fellowcraft or Master, or, Deacon, Presbyter and Bishop, according to the ways of the ancient and esoteric Ecclesia, depends on the predispositions acquired in previous trainings, in the present or other lives. Returning to the discussion about the Brow Centre, it is well-known that hypnotists, mesmerizers and therapists impose their suggestion and will on a subject by staring intensely into the eyes and on the bridge of the nose. They concentrate their minds and stare also at the nape of the neck, in the cerebellum region, where there is another very important center: the Occipital Centre, which is linked to that of the front. Both of these centers constitute a base of the sense of the I. The Brow Centre corresponds to an abstract thought of the purest intellectuality, which at moments is very intense, bright and penetrating but it is unstable and complex; its unification around a subject calls for an enormous voluntary effort of concentration. Hesychasts (who I have met personally) have known this for a long time, the same is true for the Yogis of India and Tibet, and the Essenes. Its function as a spiritual sensory organ pertains specifically to the ‘Causal Body ’, to the superior mental body and the spirit; therefore, it governs intuition and intellective vision. Between the Brow Centre and the Basal Centre, at the base of the spine, there is an exchange of psychic energy, as well as with the Occipital Centre. In the Biblical esotericism of the Essenes, the Frontal Center relates to the Sefirah Hokmah, meaning Wisdom. The Name of God with which it corresponds is Jah, written in Hebrew letters as an abbreviation of the Tetragrammaton (= a noun of 4 letters), or Jhvh, and indicates the projection of the absolute unity of God.
The Brow Centre, a clean and wonderfully white-electric blue, can take on different colors according to the evolutive spiritual state of the person. If its light is white and golden then the individual is on the way to perfection, but, a green or dull-red light is the sign of moral baseness or, to say the least, poorly harmonic. Diagram or icon of the Brow Centre and its Names Even though it is difficult to discipline the center of command, due to its instability and complexity, because it is driven by the laws of association of thoughts, and has an inclination to free anarchic play, which must be stopped, it is fundamental to discipline it to unite with a subject. In this voluntary effort of concentration, involving hard work, this Centre often surrenders, breaks down, is deprived of its forces, and consequently the thought dissolves. This is the method of normal thinking when we look for the solution to a problem or concentrate the mind in order to resolve a difficulty and this calls for the maximum agility of our intellect and a living strength. Who can develop this enjoys, both day and night, the divine emotion without losing the consciousness of the I. The center of the forehead, purified by a holy public and private life, following the example of Socrates, Pythagoras and Christ, being spurred, through continual meditation, towards the union with the Wisdom of God, reciting in prayer the Hebraic logodynamics AUM and JAH, gives access to the second way of Wisdom, whose name is ‘Illuminating Intelligence’, also called ‘the Reason which Illuminates’, the ‘Second Glory’. On the moral plane, the awakening of the ‘Brow Centre’ is the Leading Force. On the biological plane, the correlations are with the Cavernous Plexus, the Hypophysis or Pituitary gland, the left eye and the nose; so, there is a relationship between the nose-ciliary ramifications of the cavernous plexus of the sympathetic nerve through the ophthalmic division of the fifth cranial nerve, which ends in the ciliary muscles of the irides and at the bridge of the nose by way of the upper-orbital channels. The pituitary gland, or hypophysis, helps in the formation of an inner image; it can be the physical mechanism of the creative sense with images and so is in relationship with the meditation of symbols. The development of the correlated center and of the respective nervous plexus depends on the daily and continuous exercises to reinforce the I, the will and the mental concentration. excerpt from "THE STARTING POINT OF THE MEDITATIVE OPERATIONS ON THE SYMBOL" of the 14th Booklet |
