| Traditional Symbolism |
|
True traditional symbolism is not arbitrary but rests on very exact laws, that is, those of the correspondence between the different orders of natural and supernatural realities, where the natural is considered the exteriorization of the supernatural. Symbolism enunciates a reality of a certain order which the esoteric believes can be represented by a reality of a lower order. Nature is a symbol of superior realities; if it were not so then it would be pointless to base the Initiations and their rites on the force of symbols. Berkeley, with good reason, said that the symbolics is the “language the Infinite Spirit speaks to the finite spirits”. We live, think on the basis of symbolism. Everything is a symbol: grammar, mathematics, the arts, astronomy. Also, Man is a symbol: it is not by chance that Moses, in Genesis, says that we are made in the image and likeness of God. If symbols by themselves act on the consciousness, the maximum effectiveness is obtained when, with natural gifts and attitudes, one works with the special techniques of the initiatic awakening which can be learned through the teachings of ‘Archeosofica ’, the esoteric school of High Initiation. excerpt from "VEILING AND UNVEILING FUNCTION OF THE SYMBOL" of the 14th Booklet |
