The Evolutive Way According to Esoteric Christianity
The evolutive way is the growth in sanctity, it is the progress in wisdom, love and grace. Like a seed of wheat which in good earth, under the action of the sun and water, begins to swell and throw forth the shoot that will become a blade of grass and then an ear of corn that will ripen with time; or, like a human embryo that becomes a newly-born, then a child, an adolescent and adult, so, in the evolutive way, we grow in God as individuals and as members of the Church.

The evolutive way is this continuous selftransformation from virtue to virtue, up to the mystical union with God and, still further, to the deifying transformation, following the Initiatic process.

The Christian ideal knows no limits to perfection, and Divine Providence and Love indicate, with the apparitions of the Guardians , at which point we have arrived. In fact, when Man believes to have become perfect, behold, the second great “Guardian of the Threshold ” appears to warn him that he must still sanctify himself to sanctify others; because, if the first work of the evolutive way is the purification of ourselves and of our personality, the second, no less gigantic and demanding, is to help others, following the example of Christ, who came to teach us how to return to the Father, integrating himself in the soul of the earth, to transfigure it, as far as possible, and returning to the Father, after leaving the driving breath of his Spirit: the Paraclete.

When we talk about evolution we do not want to be misunderstood because we are talking as Archeosophers, as esoteric Christians, adhering to the Holy Scriptures, elaborating the theology of the first Fathers of the Church, and for this we say that the evolutive way refers only to the creation and not to God. God does not evolve. He is. His fallen spiritual creatures evolve “because we believe (with Origen) that before this visible world there have been others, just as, after the destruction of this one, there will exist another” (De Principiis, III,5,3).

Just so, another visible world: “According to his promise, we await new heavens and a new earth, in which justice resides” (2 Peter, 3:13). Each person we meet on our way is a passer-by who arrives from far away and goes far away, moved by the Law of Evolution that rules the Universe and its inhabitants. Step by step, Humanity climbs towards the Divine Energies, guided by the Avatâr Jesus Christ , and is enlivened and moved by the force of the Spirit which sanctifies.
