| Mediumship and Ultraphany |
|
When one speaks of a medium and of mediumistic phenomena, what comes into mind is a person gifted with the faculty to receive, like a radio or television, the messages of a world blocked to ordinary senses, that arrive from disembodied entities, or from good and bad angels. If the mediumship is the faculty possessed by certain people who make use of it to contact the hereafter, and if the term “Ultraphany” is added, then, the mediumship of which we are speaking is very different from the commonly meant one, because, in such a sense it is prophetism and also contact with spirits of elevated perfection, known in esoteric terminology, as Adepts, Archangels, Angels, Spirits of Wisdom and Love.
The term “Ultraphany” is composed of ultra (from Latin)= beyond, and phania (from Greek)= light; therefore, it can be translated, more or less, as: “light of the hereafter”. This term is applied, therefore, to all the authentic phenomena that express the reception of intelligent essences. The everyday mediumship, the so-called, practice of spiritualism, is never advisable because of the risks it involves: incorporation of poorly evolved, wicked, ignorant and deceiving souls. The ordinary medium (an individual to whom is attributed the power to serve as an intermediary between the world of the living and that of the deceased) cannot be an Initiate, but the ultraphanic medium, yes. The everyday medium is a passive instrument, with little, or hardly any self-control, and so, at the mercy of the spirits crowded in a room and the vicinity of where the séance is held: spirits of the astral world, or else residues of what they were, given that the dead, after a certain time of sojourn in the etheric, astral and mental world, abandon their respective energetic bodies, before retracting in the “Causal Body ”. Ordinary, “barontic” (the “baront” is a heavy being, the same as a malign or base spirit of the spiritists) or physical mediumship, makes the medium a slave of forces not always good and serene; but ultraphanic mediumship leads to prophetism , and though part of the graces given freely by the Eternal, can be helped by a special technique, which will be explained in this booklet. Ordinary mediumship is favored by blocking, at a certain phase, the process of out-of body-experience , the projection of the consciousness outside of the body, to travel in the astral and mental world, that is, to take it to the border of the crossing in the astral world and stopping it, or, not allowing it to go on. Also, for ordinary mediumship the intervention at the séance of a physical guide, gifted with hypo-magnetic powers, is needed. The ultraphanic mediums, on the contrary, are able to do everything by themselves, as they possess the capacity to enter into the superconsciousness, to attune with, and, so enter in resonance with the highest dimensions. The ultraphanic mediumship is useful to find a dearly loved dead person, as long as they are no longer in the low worlds of the dead but have moved into other planes more suitable for the evolutive grade (fifth, sixth, seventh dimension); to see and receive instructions from a Master; to read the cosmic annals. Mediumship has its evolution (process of transformation, according to the way of moral perfection): first of all there is the passive and unconscious mediumship, then, the inspirational mediumship, immensely superior to the ordinary passive mediumship, and, beyond the inspirational mediumship there is, as a logical development, the maturation and transformation of the ultraphanic mediumship in prophetism and in the mystic state. This latter is the condition of who adores God the Father in spirit and truth, and syntonizes the human intelligence to the intelligence of God, the subject of the great Mysteries .
