Before to run running to the conquest of the Kingdom of God, before preparing yourself for the dominion over the passions which torment your consciousness, before carrying the word of Christ into the heart of men, you must make certain that you have a will which is strong enough to embark on, carry out and lead to the conclusion of the program of the ascetic life. If the will is not effective, all the rest collapses.

The first job, therefore, is the awakening, the strengthening, the education, the exercise of the will, because a powerful will, guided by Grace, makes men gigantic in virtue and works. If you lack a will that is tenacious, unshakable, aware, you will not model your inferior and superior consciousness, and will never create around you the powerful fascination of the Apostle, and the prestige of the superior person.

 

Therefore, the education of the will is the first, indispensable step of the children of the Light. A will, that is limp, inert, weak and indecisive, will never make a Saint, an Initiate and an Adept.

 

The Master Jesus, in all his teachings, lays particular stress on the Will, Love and Meditation. He always gives a significant import to the will, this faculty of command, on which all the other intellectual faculties, and a good part of those physiological, depend.

 

The Christ always underlines the use of the will, as a rational appetite which tends to accomplish all that the intellect perceives as good. According to Christ, the will must serve to take by force the Kingdom of the Heavens; because it is the executive power of our personality, the most powerful among the forces of the I, thanks to which it is possible to pre-establish definite goals and the particular means to achieve them.

Christ wants in us a very strong will, informed with Love; a will that is the absolute master of ourselves, because such a will becomes the will of God Himself. The Initiates are men and women in full control of themselves and of their own attitudes.

 

The control of oneself makes the qualitative transmutation feasible, in the angelic sense, of the etheric, astral, mental body, of the Ego and its immortal principles: spirit , soul and eros . This transmutation allows one to become Sons of God or Gods, or, at least, to gain awareness of this lofty state.
