The astral double, also defined with the terms “body of desire” or “emotional body”, is the exact double of the etheric double which we have already examined, and of the anatomical body. According to its degree of purity it is more or less white. It is the third body which extends from the physical as an aura, a luminous cloud and colored with all the colors of the light spectrum, according to the passions which animate this energy. Each passion is revealed as a color of the aura .

It is composed of a subtle matter, visible only to clairvoyants, invisible to who does not possess paranormal faculties. It can separate itself spontaneously from the physical body or by the will of the individual, and travel at the speed of light. The emotional body is alive but not intelligent.

Its aspect indicates the progress achieved by the individual. From the cleanness of its outline, from the brightness of its substance, from the perfection of its organization, the clairvoyant can estimate the evolutive degree of the Ego , that, in fact, uses a certain emotional body to which also a suitable etheric body and physical body must correspond.

 

The texture of the emotional body varies in hues from individual to individual, because it reflects in an evolutive sense the condition of the possessor of a given emotional body. The more the thoughts and the sentiments are noble, elevated and pure, the more the emotional body becomes beautiful and a docile instrument of the interior Man. The more the man is vulgar, bad, egoistic, the more his emotional body takes on dark, thick, dense colors.

 

At the moment of passing-away, after the disappearance of the physical body, the astral body continues to live, tied to the mental body and the Ego, prisoner of the World of Desire, at a level corresponding to its development. To climb the different regions it must have the qualities of these regions. It is for this that Archeosofica insists that every person must not waste time, but purify themselves in this present existence, suggesting, with the different
Asceses, the search of good in evil, to transmute evil into good.

 

Indifference is fatal, because it weakens the object towards which it is directed, or at least, is extremely harmful in what concerns our relationship with the object.

 

The nature of the environment created by us depends on the sentiments. With love of the good we will nourish and keep all the good that surrounds us, but if we tend towards evil we will saturate the environment with demons created by ourselves.

 

The struggle between the two Forces of Attraction and of Repulsion is the source of all pain and sorrow. What everyone is in the present existence can be deciphered from the colors of the Body of Desires. So it is therefore worthwhile that the subject be dealt with here, at
least in its essential outlines.
